Abstract:
This proposal is aimed at the precise measurement of the β decays of 27Na and 22O. Improved information on the β-intensity probabilities of these decays will shed light on the large isospin mirror asymmetry recently observed when compared with the decays of the corresponding mirror nuclei 27S and 22Si. If confirmed, such a large isospin asymmetry could be interpreted as evidence of proton halo structures in 27S and 22Al.
