Young Investigators Meeting CMAM-UAM

This event provides a platform for young researchers—including postdoctoral fellows, doctoral candidates, master’s, and undergraduate students—to present their research through 10-minute presentations.

The I Young Investigator Meeting CMAM-UAM was held on June 20, 2024, at the Centre for Micro-Analysis of Materials (CMAM) of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Over 20 students from various national and international institutions participated, sharing insights across diverse fields such as radiobiology, new materials for electronic applications, and nuclear physics. The meeting fostered a collaborative environment, encouraging scientific debate and knowledge exchange among emerging scientists.

The II Young Investigators Meeting CMAM-UAM was held on June 23, 2025, at the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of Madrid. A total of 20 oral contributions were presented throughout the day, encouraging scientific discussion in a friendly and multidisciplinary environment. The meeting brought together undergraduate, master’s, PhD, and postdoctoral students currently conducting research aligned with the center’s strategic areas, including radiobiology, ion implantation, and materials characterization techniques, among others.

The director of CMAM, Gastón García, emphasized the importance of dissemination and knowledge transfer, highlighting the enriching experience for both organizers and participants. He noted the creation of a friendly portal for scientific debate, encouraging attendees to share their efforts in a more approachable setting, fostering interaction and mutual interest in each other’s work.
