The “4ºESO + Empresa” Programme

The 4ºESO+Empresa Program is an educational initiative designed to bring high school students closer to the professional world by offering short internships in companies and research institutions. This program allows students to gain firsthand experience in different work environments, helping them explore potential career paths and develop a better understanding of real-world applications of science and technology.

As part of this initiative, CMAM actively participated in the 2023-2024 edition by welcoming 5 students during 3 days under the tutelage of our researcher Noelia Maldonado. During their stay, students had the opportunity to:

  • Learn about applied physics and material science.
  • Explore the electrostatic ion accelerator and its applications in fields such as nanotechnology, cultural heritage preservation, and biomedicine.
  • Engage with researchers and technical staff, gaining insight into daily scientific work.
  • Participate in demonstrations and hands-on activities, helping them understand how ion beam techniques are used for material analysis and modification.

By taking part in the 4ºESO+Empresa Program, CMAM fosters scientific curiosity among young students, encouraging them to consider careers in physics, engineering, and research. This initiative aligns with CMAM’s commitment to science communication and education, inspiring future generations of scientists and innovators.
