NAPMIX 2026 brings together international experts in FAIR data and scientific data management at UAM
On May 18–19, 2026, the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) hosted the NAPMIX Training Workshop 2026 – Metadata, RDM & FAIR Integration, an international event organized by the Centro de Micro-Análisis de Materiales (CMAM) within the framework of the European project NAPMIX (Nuclear, Astro, and Particle Metadata Integration for eXperiments), funded by the OSCARS program.
The workshop brought together researchers, experts in scientific data management, and research infrastructure managers from various European centers, with the aim of presenting the technical and methodological advances of the NAPMIX ecosystem and its integration into Research Data Management (RDM) workflows.
During the first day, technical and organizational aspects related to the NAPMIX system architecture were addressed, as well as user and permission management mechanisms and practical implementation cases in nuclear physics environments developed by the ICTS IABA, formed by the Centro Nacional de Aceleradores (CNA) and CMAM.
The second day was aimed at a broader scientific audience and featured invited talks by international experts in data management, FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data—principles that promote making scientific data findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable—and open science. Highlighting the program was the participation of Rafaella Lenoir, Head of Open Science at UAM, who presented the university’s initiatives on FAIR data and open science in her talk titled “Open Science at UAM: Trends and Achievements.”
The workshop also included a hands-on session in which participants were able to use the NAPMIX platform.
